The Seelie Court, as a group, would often use these excursions to find those in need of help. The Seelie were also prone to a great deal of mischief, especially when bored. The Unseelie Court originates from Scottish mythology and is a dark counterpart to the Seelie Court. The Unseelie fairies appear in groups at night and harrass travelers by lifting them up in the air, beating them or forcing them to do acts of violence. However, some Unseelie fairies might become fond of a particular human and treat them almost like a pet.

The Seelie Court comes from Scottish mythology and is a class of fairies who are kind and light hearted. They will both help and seek help from humans, but at the same time they will often play pranks on them, as they easily forget their sorrows and do not realize how their pranks might affect humans.
