a chasm opened in the earth and out of it coal-black horses sprang, drawing a chariot and driven by one who had a look of dark splendor, majestic and beautiful and terrible.

SELENE, titan goddess of the moon. (¼) TITANS.

In Greek mythology, Selene is the goddess of the moon. She is the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia, and sister of the sun-god Helios, and of Eos, goddess of the dawn. She was known to drive her moon chariot across the heavens, possessing the abilities of giving sleep, lighting the night and having control over time. Her lunar sphere or crescent was represented as either a crown set upon her head or as the fold of a raised, shining cloak. Sometimes she was said to drive a team of oxen and her lunar crescent was likened to the horns of a bull.

In classical times, Selene was often identified with Artemis, much as her brother, Helios, was identified with Apollo. Both Selene and Artemis were also associated with Hecate, and all three were regarded as lunar goddesses, although only Selene was regarded as the personification of the moon itself.

Ἀστερία / Asteria is the Greek Goddess of the oracles of the night, such as astrology and dream interpretation. She is the daughter of the Titans Phoebe and Coeus, sister of Leto, Goddess  of  the oracles of the day.

Asteria was pursued by Zeus, but instead of  falling victim to his embrace, she turned herself into a quail and flung herself  into the sea. It was then that his brother Poseidon pursued her and the quail she became transformed into the island Ortygia (quail).
When her sister Leto, pregnant with Zeus’ children Apollo and Artemis, was pursued by a jealous Hera (who had banned Leto from giving birth on solid earth), Asteria called to her and offered her a safe place to give birth.  When Leto landed on the island, the seabed rose up and anchored the island in place.

Apollo later named the island Delos (“brought to light”).
In myth it is said that this island fell from heaven like a star.
